USA Pennsylvania Malvern, Shanghai, China — August 20, 2024 -Vishay IntertechNology, Inc. (NYSE Stock Name: VSH) announced that it launched a new type of silicon PIN optical diode tube--- Vemd8082, under the visible/near infrared wavelength, this device can provide higher sensitivity for biomedical applications such as heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring.Compared with previous generation solutions, the latest VEMD8082 has the characteristics of higher reverse light current, lower diode capacitors, and faster rising and down and down time.In addition, the volume of the device is as small as 4.8 mm x 2.5 mm x 0.5 mm, which is suitable for integrated into thin and light devices such as smart watches.
The high -sensitivity of VEMD8082 is typical in the field of biomedical applications, such as the accumulation of optical capacitance (PPG). Among them, the optical diode is used to detect blood volume and flow changes by measuring vascular absorption or reflection. In these applications, precise measurement is essential for diagnosis and monitoring of cardiovascular disease and other diseases.
Compared with the previous generation, the new device is due to it6.0 mm2's radiation sensitivity area and reverse light current increased by 18%-20%(depending on the wavelength) and have high sensitivity. The diode capacitors fell from 50 PF to 46 PF, and rose faster, shortening from 110 ns to 40 ns, which can achieve a higher sampling rate.
Vemd8082 can now provide samples and mass production.
